ION Journal: Recap kite women camp Tarifa 2025

Women kite camp 2025

A weekend that stayed in the skin like sun and salt.

Led by pro rider and free spirit Julia Castro, the ION WOMEN CAMP brought together 15 kite and wing riders in Tarifa — where the wind never sleeps and the vibe feels like home.

From the first moment, it was clear this wasn’t just another camp. Arrivals at the DUNAS TARIFA glamping resort set the mood: introductions over golden-hour cocktails, surrounded by nature. That night, under the stars, everyone recharged in their glampings — the anticipation for what was ahead running high.

Saturday opened slow and intentional, with mindful movement to set the tone. A Flex & Mobility session with the team from VALULA Yoga Center loosened muscles, woke up strength, and shifted everyone into gear. Julia then led a coaching circle — a space for sharing, listening, and creating the bonds that would shape the weekend.

By midday, the wind started to call. The crew headed to Valdevaqueros, at the Tumbao – Liam Whaley Pro Center area, where a private Duotone Kite & Wing 2025 demo awaited. Girls only. Fresh gear, a full test session, and a picnic from POWER HOUSE to keep the energy up. And then… the wind delivered. Clouds cleared, the sea opened, and they flew. Riding, crashing, laughing — the beach alive with pure female energy. From the zodiac, Luis Iturregui caught every trick, splash, and grin — the kind of stoke that comes with landing something for the first time.

Post-session, showers at Liam Whaley Pro Center gave way to a night to remember. Tumbao became their playground: mojitos in hand, dancing breaking out without warning, laughter rolling with the ocean breeze. Later, at Casa Explora, a sunset dinner on the terrace served up flavors to match the mood — warm, easy, and unforgettable.

Sunday arrived softer. After breakfast, a final coaching circle brought reflections on what had been lived, learned, and let go. A grounding yoga class with Carol, tucked into the trees at DUNAS, anchored the experience in mind and body.

To close it all, Jana from Patanegra led a self-rescue workshop — a reminder that confidence on the water comes with knowing how to handle any situation. One last picnic at Valdevaqueros sealed the weekend, between hugs, photos, and new plans.
